Major Infrastructure Upgrade for Bitbuzz

Dublin, 18th Jan 2010: Bitbuzz, Ireland's leading Wi-Fi service provider, has initiated a major upgrade of its infrastructure, which includes moving to the state-of-the-art Data Electronics data centre in Kilcarbery Park, South Dublin.

The move by Bitbuzz to the Data Electronics Facility will enable the company to support the increasing usage of its service, and enable the company to further enhance its operations in the Irish and UK markets for the future.

Shane Deasy, Managing Director, Bitbuzz, said of the move:  "Data Electronics are an extremely well established Irish company, with an excellent reputation for reliability and service.  As a result of the move, we will be close to the large array of international carriers that are also present in the data centre, and we are confident that this will enable us to better serve our growing number of customers."

INEX, the Irish Neutral Exchange Facility, is also in the Data Electronics facility.  This will enable Bitbuzz to make use of INEX's high-seed, reliable and resilient IP traffic exchange facilities, which will in-turn improve the Bitbuzz service.

Maurice Mortell, CEO, Data Electronics, said: "We are very pleased to add Bitbuzz to our prestigious list of customers.  It reinforces out position as leading provider of services to the telecommunications industry.  Moreover, it endorses our unrivalled expertise to deliver advanced professional services that effectively manage the risk, complexity and cost of core business applications."

By the end of Q3 2009, registered Bitbuzz users had grown to total of 196,226, an increase of 50% on the previous year, and this number has continued to grow into 2010.
